<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase security performance of an image forming apparatus, by placing a limit on browsing of image data that are not transmitted or stored in a memory, at the occurrence of a transmission error. <P>SOLUTION: When a telephone number of a transmission destination designated by a user is dialed and a dial signal is transmitted from a transmission/reception section 11 of the image forming apparatus 10 to the transmission destination designated by the user, if communication is not established between the transmission/reception section 11 of the image forming apparatus 10 and the transmission destination designated by the user, a transmission error occurs. Then image data whose transmission is disabled are stored in a folder installed by each user in a document box of a recording medium 18, while being associated with the name and the telephone number of the transmission destination designated by the user. Furthermore, printing by a printer function and browsing of the contents of the image data whose transmission is disabled are inhibited; and when the transmission of the image data whose transmission is disabled is instructed, the transmission of the image data only to the transmission destination designated first by the user is permitted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
