PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite optical element which is manufactured, by integrally molding an optical element with an optical element raw material and a retaining frame therof, and forming a plastic material layer on the integrally molded optical element. SOLUTION: The composite optical element 1 comprises the optical element raw material 2a which is softened by heating, the retaining frame 3 which is molded integrally with the optical element raw material 2a and the plastic material layer 4, which is formed on one side of an optical surface obtained by integrally molding the optical element raw material 2a and the retaining frame 3.
