PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a reconstruction technique permitting a high speed progress of a reconstruction process of stored data with a minimum delay in an input/output command. SOLUTION: This reconstruction control method for controlling a data storage device capable of executing input/output processing of processed data even when a plurality of storage media break down simultaneously includes a process for determining whether or not the number of storage media being usable for inputting/outputting of the processed data is a number plus one or more requiring input/output of the processed data when detecting a reconstruction request of stored data, a process for specifying the storage media to be operated of the usable storage media when obtaining an affirmation result, a process for specifying one of the storage media to be operated for reconstruction and the others for inputting/outputting of the processed data and for shifting the specifying of the storage medium for reconstruction, and a process for executing input/output of the processed data and reading of a process unit for reconstruction in parallel according to the specifying of the storage medium and for reconstructing the stored data and recording in the storage medium for reconstruction at the step when the number process units requiring for the reconstruction of the stored data.
