PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method of contaminated soil which is capable of easily conducting the cleaning of contaminated soil with a simple step and of reducing the treatment cost. SOLUTION: The cleaning method of the contaminated soil comprises the steps of inserting at least one of temperature controlling devices into the contaminated soil containing a contaminant and water, setting a contaminant scavenger 22 on the contaminated soil to scavenge the contaminated soil, controlling the temperature so that the temperature gradient is generated by the temperature controlling device 21b and convecting the contaminant by convecting water included in the contaminated soil 11 to scavenge the contaminant with the contaminant scavenger 22.
