The invention concerns a device for eliminating through biological degradation organic matter present in circuits discharging aqueous effluents, operating completely independently as it is placed directly in the circuit to be treated. It comprises: a non-immersed culture media capable of being colonized by micro-organisms capable of degrading at least partly the organic matter; a tank adapted to supply said culture media with nutrient medium; means for maintaining said treating device within said discharge circuit. The discharged effluent constitutes the hydric source required for preparing a nutrient medium and for allowing cell multiplication of the bacteria degrading the organic matter. The use of said device is extremely simple, since it does not need to be connected to any water, power or nutrient carrier supply duct whatsoever and operates continuously without maintenance. The invention also concerns a method for biological treatment of fats and other organic matter deposited in aqueous effluent discharge conduits. |
