METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GENERATING LOW DENSITY PARITY CHECK MATRIX BY BLOCK AND RECORDING MEDIUM THEREOF

A method and an apparatus for generating a low density parity check matrix by a block and a recording medium thereof are provided to divide a parity check matrix area in a vertical direction by determining a point by using one of a first parity bit vector length and a second parity bit vector length. A method for generating a low density parity check matrix by a block includes the steps of: dividing an area of the low density parity check matrix in a vertical direction on the basis of the lengths of a first parity bit vector and a second parity bit vector(401); forming a matrix by a block for arranging a double diagonal matrix at the upper part of the area corresponding to the second parity bit vector among the divided areas(402); dividing the low density parity check matrix in a horizontal direction on the basis of the double diagonal matrix(403); and forming a matrix by a block included in the vertically and horizontally divided areas of the low density parity check matrix to have the same column weight(404).
