<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and an image processor using a processing procedure adopted by a traffic congestion measuring method and device for stably detecting congestion state. <P>SOLUTION: On an image where a road and a vehicle photographed by a video camera are plotted, a sample point where a vehicle is presumed to exist is detected as an existence sample point, and a sample point where the moving vehicle is presumed to exist is detected as a movement sample point. Then, a block constituted of a plurality of adjacent sample points including the movement sample point of a predetermined ratio or more is detected as a movement block, and the existence sample point away from the movement block is detected as a congestion sample point, and a block constituted of the plurality of adjacent sample points including the congestion sample points of the predetermined ratio or more is detected as a congestion block. Then, the image is processed so that it is possible to measure the state of the traffic congestion on the image road based on the congestion blocks detected by the above mentioned procedure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
