<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label-printing device and label-printing method, capable of accurately extracting identification numbers from barcodes, excluding the EAN-128 type as a standard barcode of meat and printing the extracted identification number on a label. <P>SOLUTION: An identification number sampling section 3 samples a numerical string identical with application identifiers that indicate subsequent data as the identification numbers, from the barcode data, and also identifies check digits of the data following the sampled numerical string, respectively. When the data whose check digits are approved is only one, the data whose check digits are approved are outputted to a print data preparing section 4. The print data preparing section 4 prepares print data, including the identification number.
