PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a designer and a manufacturer to easily select high-quality components by managing information related to the components.

SOLUTION: This component management system includes: a component database 119 for registering component data regarding components, which have been approved as purchasing objects based on predetermined criteria; an e-mail server for receiving information regarding components from a component provider in the form of e-mail and for providing the received information to a person in charge of component selection; an updating terminal 114 for updating the component database of the components based on the result of an approval process based on the provided information; and a design terminal for selecting arbitrary components for design from the components registered in the component database 119.
