<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system capable of providing fast printing by efficiently using print data stored in a particular storage medium in a printer. <P>SOLUTION: In the printer 40, a box BOX is saved in association with the print data and job tickets, and when a document ID is received from a client PC, a corresponding job ticket is sent back. In the client PC 30, if it is determined that there is no need to change the print data stored in the box of a printer side when the sent back job ticket is edited, the edited job ticket is sent to the printer 30, and printing is carried out by using the print data stored in the box.
