PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact, weight-reduced and inexpensively configured receiver whereby a working load imposed on a user associated with switching between a built-in antenna and an external antenna can be relieved. SOLUTION: The receiver is configured to include: the built-in antenna located inside the receiver; the external antenna freely removably configured; a power supply section for supplying power to drive the built-in antenna and the external antenna; a current detection means for detecting a current flowing from the power supply section through the external antenna; and a changeover means for selectively supplying power to either of the built-in antenna and the external antenna depending on the amount of the current detected by the current detection means.
