PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clock movement compact in at least one direction other than the thickness, and having a hand-setting crown at a location easily accessible to the user, when the clock is wrapped around a wrist. SOLUTION: The compact clock movement, preferably, has a winding stem 28 for turning the hands and oriented in the longitudinal direction of the movement, and also has a relatively short portion within the movement. A setting lever 7 is pivotably mounted to frames 1, 27, 35, 76 of the movement, holds a pivot member 12 for interacting with the frames and a coupling member 10 for interacting with the winding stem 28, and limits a translational movement. The pivot member is, preferably, formed with a draw screw 12, disposed on both sides of the setting lever 7, and provided with first and second pivots 75, 42 fitted into the frames 1, 27. The winding stem 28 is fitted into and caught permanently by a crown pinion 34 and disposed on both side of the crown pinion, and forms an assembly provided with the first and second pivots fitted into the frames 27, 35.
