A cup holder is provided to reliably fix a cup in the cup holder and automatically fix/clamp the cup by moving a keeping unit together with a base plate, to easily move the base plate to a holding position of the cup holder by moving the base plate down from an initial position to the holding position based on a horizontal shaft, and to thereby easily use the cup holder. A cup holder of a vehicle comprises a supporting unit(16) mounted at the upper side to adjust a base plate(14) between an initial position for a cup(12) and a holding position; and a keeping unit(24) connected with the base plate to move the cup in the cup holder from the initial position to the holding position stably and reliably standing the cup while moving the base plate from the initial position to the holding position. The base plate is possibly pivoted about a horizontal shaft.
