<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insert and a cutting tool attached with the insert capable of reducing cutting resistance by arranging the insert such that a rake angle becomes plus and using eight corner parts by one insert even the insert formed to a quadrangular flat plate-like shape in which cutting blades extending along a side ridgeline part of a quadrangular plane are provided on respective corner parts of the quadrangular plane. <P>SOLUTION: In the insert 11 attached to the cutting tool 1, an outer shape is formed to the quadrangular flat plate-like shape and cutting blade parts 15 having the cutting blade 14 making side surfaces at a periphery of the quadrangular plane 12A to rake faces and extending along the side ridgeline part of the quadrangular plane 12A at which the quadrangular plane 12A and the rake faces are crossed are provided on all corner parts 13 of the quadrangular plane 12A.
