PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combined machine tool which can perform a flexible machining operation effective for a small quantity production for many kinds of products in order to solve the problems in the case of performing various machining operations by combining conventional single purpose machine tools, and can minimize the floor space of the machine tools according to a quantity of the production, and can quickly and accurately perform various machining operations, and can perform the machining by intensively concentrated processes throughout the machining process from the beginning to the finish of the machining, and further to provide a method for machining a workpiece using the same combined machine tool. SOLUTION: The combined machine tool 1 comprises a workpiece supporting section for rotatably supporting the workpiece W to be machined, and a machining tool supporting unit for supporting one machining tool, which selects the one machining tool from shape machining tools for machining the workpiece, heat treatment tools, and finishing tools, and gives a machining posture to the machining tool according to the outside diameter of the workpiece, a machining position, and a machining angle during machining. Thus, the combined machine tool 1 can machine the workpiece by a plurality of machining methods. The method for machining the workpiece using the same combined machine tool are also provided.
