PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the layout of edited images by simple input operation. SOLUTION: A method for controlling a photographing/printing apparatus includes a photographing step for photographing an object, an editing step for editing an image photographed by the photographing step in accordance with user's operation, an output step for printing out the image edited by the edition step, and an output layout setting step for setting the layout of edited images to be printed out in accordance with user's operation. In the output layout setting step, a plurality of edited images to be candidates to be laid out for printing on a screen and the edited images selected by the user's operation are automatically displayed in respective divided areas on the same screen as enlarged images.
