PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver by which more effective cooling is performed by increasing rotation speed of a cooling fan in comparison with the case that a program is provided while a CM is provided. SOLUTION: The television receiver has the cooling fan for cooling temperature of the inside of a receiver main body, a temperature detector for detecting temperature of the inside of the receiver main body, a program/commercial message discrimination means for discriminating whether broadcast content being reproduced is the commercial message or the program and a control means for controlling the number of rotations of the cooling fan based on discrimination results of the program/commercial message discrimination means and the detected temperature of the temperature detector.
