PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an algaecidal microbial agent which comprises at least one of citric acid, malic acid, gluconic acid, lactic acid and acetic acid, and at least one of oxalic acid, its esters and its salts, and can exterminate various algae such as green lever and diatom, and pathogenic microbes such as reddish-brown rot fungi, Chytrid blight fungi and adherent bacteria in short times, when a laver net to which lavers are adhered is immersed in a treating liquid containing the ingredients. SOLUTION: This algaecidal microbial agent for culturing lavers contains at least one of citric acid, malic acid, gluconic acid, lactic acid and acetic acid, and at least one of oxalic acid, its esters and its salts as main ingredients.
