PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily manufacturing bismuth vanadate fine particles excellent in color forming property and transparency with good productivity. SOLUTION: The bismuth vanadate fine particles are manufactured by stirring a solution prepared by mixing an aqueous bismuth nitrate solution and an aqueous vanadium chloride solution while keeping the solution at pH 1-6 to form a precipitate, which is subjected to dehydrating condensation by aging at 70-90°C and further to heat treatment at 300-600°C. The resulting bismuth vanadate fine particles have an average minor axis size of 1-100 nm, an average major axis size of 30 nm to 1μm and an average aspect ratio of 5-50. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
