PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device easily saving a space in a height direction of a hoist way. SOLUTION: In the elevator device, a car 1 and a balance weight 10, which are suspended in the hoistway with a rope 5, are driven by a hoisting machine 8. The elevator device comprises: a car suspension wheel 6 attached to the car 1 opposing to a side face of the car 1; a car rope stopper part 3 attached to the car 1; a balance weight suspension wheel 11 attached on the balance weight 10; and a rope stopper part 13 attached to the balance weight 10.
