<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video device which does not need much time by the detection of a signal. <P>SOLUTION: A selector 103 selects one input from a plurality of video input terminals and outputs the selected video signal. A plurality of video signal detecting parts 105a to c judge whether video signals are supplied from the plurality of video input terminals. A plurality of signal determining parts 106a to c judge a format of a video signal when the video signal is newly detected. A signal processing part 104 applies signal processing corresponding to a judgment result from the signal determining part to the video signal from the selector.
