<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make operation feeling and braking force compatible by suitably controlling reaction force of a brake pedal. <P>SOLUTION: In the brake pedal device for the vehicle for performing control that a reaction force giving means increases the reaction force of the brake pedal according to increase of a stroke speed of the brake pedal operated by a leg of a driver, viscous friction reaction force is increased according to increase of the stroke of the brake pedal. Thereby, while enhancing the operation feeling by suppressing the reaction force to a low degree at an initial area of stepping-in that the stroke speed of the brake pedal easily becomes high, when the brake pedal is largely stepped-in, large reaction force is generated and sense of security can be given to the driver. Further, by reducing the viscous friction reaction force at stepping increase of the brake pedal and at emergency, while ensuring required rigid feeling of the brake pedal at a usual time, the sufficient braking force can be generated by easily stroking the brake pedal by reducing the reaction force at stepping increase. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
