PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for sensing flames, which surely senses even flames such as a blue flame and the like being of low-illuminance burning flames. SOLUTION: The front section of a cap member 7 which can be detachably coupled to an optical sensor 6, is made up as a light condensing section 71. The outer surface 712 of the light condensing section 71 is expanded semi-spherically so as to be directed ahead, i.e., toward the burning flame side, and is cut so as to be in a polyhedral form composed of a number of flat surfaces 713 in random directions, thereby receiving light from almost the whole forward area in condensing the light on the optical sensor 6.
