PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily launch a flying object without using explosives by driving the piston of a gas compression pipe with the armature of a rail gun. SOLUTION: This accelerating method comprises loading the flying object 4 via a diaphragm 3 into an acceleration tube 2 of the gas compression pipe 1, driving the piston 5 with the armature 11 of the rail gun 10, compressing light gas 8, and breaking the diaphragm 3 with a projection 12 of the piston 5 to launch the flying object 4.
