A digital broadcasting data recording/reproducing apparatus having a TS(Time Shift) maintenance function and a method of controlling the TS maintenance function are provided to apply TS service to any section of a reproduced broadcasting program by freely setting a TS maintenance section. A digital broadcasting program recording/reproducing apparatus includes an interface, a storage unit(160), a TS processor(150), a TS maintenance processor(155), and a controller(125). The interface receives user's command data through an operating panel and transmits a TS maintenance start signal and a TS maintenance finishing signal. The storage unit stores digital broadcasting data. The TS processor records finally reproduced data in the storage unit when the digital broadcasting data is reproduced and deletes previous data corresponding to limit storage capacity. The TS maintenance processor records the currently reproduced digital broadcasting data in the storage unit without being affected by the limit storage capacity to set a TS maintenance section. The controller operates the TS maintenance processor when receiving the TS maintenance start signal and operates the TS processor when receiving the TS maintenance finishing signal.
