<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display device having luminous display and high contrast and nearly free from viewing angle dependence at the time of transmission mode. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device having a semitransmission reflection layer on a lower substrate, a polarizing plate 1 is disposed on an upper side of a liquid crystal cell 4 wherein liquid crystal layer thicknesses of a transmission display part and a reflection display part are made different from each other by a layer thickness adjusting layer, a uniaxially stretched retardation film 2 is disposed between the polarizing plate 1 and the liquid crystal cell 4 and a liquid crystal film 3 whose nematic hybrid alignment is fixed is disposed between the retardation film 2 and the liquid crystal cell 4. A polarizing plate 7 is disposed on the lower side of the liquid crystal cell 4, a uniaxially stretched retardation film 6 is disposed between the polarizing plate 7 and the liquid crystal cell 4 and a liquid crystal film 5 whose nematic hybrid alignment is fixed is disposed between the retardation film 6 and the liquid crystal cell 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
