PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable starch composition which is obtained by curing starch and is suitable for applications including a coating material, an adhesive and a printing material. SOLUTION: The curable starch composition comprises a mixture of starch and a curing agent having a functional group complementarily reacting with at least one hydroxy group contained in the molecule of starch, or a modified starch having at least one substituent selected from a hydrocarbon group, an acid group, a blocked isocyanate group, isocyanate group, an oxidatively polymerizable group, a radically polymerizable unsaturated group, and an amide group in the molecule of starch; a biodegradable resin except starch; a metal complex; and a blocking agent selected from aβ-diketone, an acetoacetic acid ester, a malonic ester, a ketone having a hydroxy group at aβposition, an aldehyde having a hydroxy group at aβposition, and an ester having a hydroxy group at aβposition.
