PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tuner capable of securing signal quality and saving electric power at the same time. SOLUTION: The tuner comprises an input terminal 16, a control circuit 22, an NIM15, a synchronizer 26, a distributor 12, a bipolar transistor 13, and a switching device 30. The input terminal 16 accepts broadband signals. In the control circuit 22, a user specifies a broadcasting station. The NIM15 and the synchronizer 26 select signals for the broadcasting station specified by the user among the broadcast signals. The distributor 12 distributes the broadcast signals to the NIM15 and the synchronizer 26. The bipolar transistor 13 amplifies either of the broadcast signals distributed by the distributor 12 before distributing to the synchronizer 26. The switching device 30 supplies electric power to the bipolar transistor 13 when predetermined requirements influencing the synchronizer 26 are satisfied. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
