PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical tape system suitable for achieving sufficient high recording density with respect to an optical tape medium. SOLUTION: The optical tape system X1 is provided with the optical tape medium 10 and a plural rows of optical heads 20 each of whose row comprises a plurality of optical heads 20 arranged in a width direction D of the optical tape medium 10 and is provided with a plural rows of optical heads 20 arranged in a spread direction of the optical tape medium 10.
