PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a management device allowing management of stored data in addition to management of hardware. SOLUTION: An electronic management device 1 is connected to personal computers 41-47 for directly inputting outlines of data held by the personal computers 41-47. The electronic management device 1 automatically and periodically accesses the respective computers 41-47 for updating the outlines of the data. In the electronic apparatus management device 1, an outline of the data held in association with the respective computers 41-47 is recorded. Photographs of the respective computers 41-47 and those of storage mediums (hard disks) 84-90 are recorded in the electronic apparatus management device 1. When the computers 41-47 are discarded, the data in the storage mediums 84-90 are destroyed, and the fact of destruction is stored in the electronic apparatus management device 1.
