Disclosed is the use of sporopollenin and/or the derivatives thereof as a component of medicaments or medical products for the therapeutic and/or prophylactic treatment and/or of food supplements for preventing side effects and/or poisonings caused by radioactive substances and/or cytostatics and/or heavy metals, dioxins, and/or polychlorinated biphenyls.
