An X-ray CT imaging unit attachable to an X-ray imager for panoramic imaging comprises a CT imaging digital sensor cassette incorporating a two-dimensional X-ray sensor for collecting X-ray projection data for CT-imaging a subject and attachable to a cassette holder and control means for controlling the timing of X-ray application for X-ray CT imaging, the exposure field of an X-ray beam generated by an X-ray generator, and the rotating means. Alternatively, the X-ray CT imaging unit comprises the CT imaging digital sensor cassette, image reconstructing means for computing image reconstruction to convert the X-ray projection data collected by a two-dimensional X-ray sensor into a distribution of the X-ray absorption coefficient of a subject and creating tomographic image data on a cross-section of a subject, and signal processing means for transmitting/receiving a signal for X-ray CT imaging control between the two-dimensional X-ray sensor and the image reconstructing means when the CT imaging digital sensor cassette is attached.
