An optical pickup device is provided to allow a spherical aberration compensating part to generate a spherical aberration in inverse proportion to the thickness change of a disc. An objective lens(39) irradiates beams generated from the first and the second LDs(Laser Diodes)(31,32) on a disc(41). A spherical aberration compensating part(40), installed between the objective lens(39) and the disc(41), compensates a spherical aberration generated by the thickness change of the disc(41). The spherical aberration compensating part(40) is classified into two areas or more to compensate the spherical aberration generated from the disc(41) having at least two or more recording layers.
