<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the starting ability of a fuel cell stack. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell unit 1 is equipped with a fuel cell 11, a heat storage tank 13 for storing a coolant in the fuel cell 11, and a casing 10 for housing the fuel cell 11 and the heat storage tank 13. Temperature rising speed in the next starting can be quickened, by reducing the heat capacity of the fuel cell by retracting the coolant in the fuel cell 11 in the heat storage tank 13, when operation stopped in a low-temperature environment. In other words, the starting performance is improved. Moreover, here, since the coolant, whose temperature is raised in the fuel cell 11, is stored in the heat storage tank 13, the atmospheric temperature in the casing 10 is kept at high temperature for a long time, the fuel cell is kept at a high temperature, and as a result, the staring ability of the fuel cell in the next starting is further improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
