<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that measures the illuminance of an imaged environment and utilizes the illuminance so as to make settings of lighting of auxiliary illumination, an exposure time, and a gain at imaging. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a lens 4; a diffusion plate for covering the lens so as to uniform the luminous quantity collected by the lens; a photoelectric conversion element located at a position at which an image of the light collected by the lens is formed; an auxiliary illumination section for adding auxiliary light in a form of a reflected light to the light collected by the lens; a reference illuminance storage section for storing a reference illuminance; an illuminance comparison section that compares the reference illuminance with a measured illuminance received by the photoelectric conversion element and provides an output of the magnitude relation associated with the comparison between the reference illuminance and the measured illuminance as an illuminance comparison value; and a lighting control section for carrying out an instruction of lighting/non-lighting of the auxiliary illumination on the basis of the illuminance comparison value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
