PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase lighting intensity of illumination emitting from a linear lighting system and to provide a linear lighting system with more uniformed illumination distribution along the longitudinal direction of a light guiding body. SOLUTION: A linear lighting system has a light guide having LEDs located on a light entrance on one end of a light guiding body made with a transmissive and longitudinal member for guiding incoming light from its entrance in longitudinal direction of the light guiding body, and a light outputting part for irradiating the guided light along with the longitudinal direction. A wedge shaped projection and a projection with planar leading end are formed at mutually facing positions for controlling light running from the light guide towards the light outputting part between the light guide and the light outputting part, reduction of light volume irradiated from the light outputting part is controlled with the projections, and illumination distribution are decreased in the longitudinal direction of the light guiding body.
