PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized surface acoustic wave device in which electrodes with high surface acoustic wave propagation efficiency are disposed on a piezoelectric substrate where a direction vertical to a notch of a piezoelectric wafer is the same direction as the direction of the long side of a rectangular piezoelectric substrate cut out of that wafer. SOLUTION: On one piezoelectric substrate 2, surface acoustic wave filter elements 3, 4 are proximately disposed so as to overlap with each other at a predetermined angle with respect to the long side direction of the piezoelectric substrate so that the surface acoustic wave filter elements 3, 4 are not in contact with each other vertically with respect to the longer side of the piezoelectric substrate. The surface acoustic wave filter elements 3, 4 are composed of surface acoustic wave filter elements 3a, 3b and 4a, 4b comprising reflectors Ra, Rb structured to shorten an electrode finger as separating from a comb electrode A.
