PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method, generating a virtual visual point image of high quality even in the presence of an occlusion area. SOLUTION: Images taken by cameras 11a and 12a are separated to order-corresponding image data Pe1a and Pe2a and non-order-corresponding image data Pe1b and Pe2b. A DP matching processing part 29 independently performs DP matching of these data. An area-based virtual visual point image generation part 30 generates, on the basis of the matching results, pixel values of a virtual image using pixel values out of the occlusion area.
