PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve further improvement of efficiency and reduction of noise in order to solve such a problem that a conventional multi-blade fan has low efficiency and generates big noise from an impeller wheel. SOLUTION: In the multi-blade fan, a bell-mouth orifice 1 is formed on both sides. An impeller 5 is provided to the inside of a spiral casing 4 having a suction port 2 and a discharge port 3. A main plate 6 of the impeller 5 is expanded to the suction side, and provided with a plurality of openings 7 and a plurality of blades 8. By so doing, suction of air can be facilitated.
