<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection apparatus of a DC power transmission system for surely detecting trouble on the DC power transmission system, eliminating a failure zone, and supplying a load with power from a sound transmission line. <P>SOLUTION: A power supply side current detector 12 and a load side current detector 13 are provided at a DC output end of a power supply side converter 5 and a DC input end of load side converters 8a, 8b, and positively and negatively detect a DC current in accordance with a current direction. A trouble detector 14 determines the trouble on a DC power transmission zone when a difference in current detection values from the current detectors 12, 13 exceeds a predetermined value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
