PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an oriented film which, in a method for drawing a thermoplastic resin film by a tenter drawing machine, can correct the dislocation of the orientation direction to make the orientation direction in a film central part arranged correctly, suppress the difference in the orientation direction between the central part and end part of the film, and obtain a wide oriented film stably without deteriorating retardation and thickness irregularity. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the oriented film, in the method for drawing the thermoplastic resin film in the film width direction by the tenter drawing machine, and in a specified zone of the tenter drawing machine, the right and left rail patterns of the tenter drawing machine are changed independently to correspond to the distribution of film orientation angles.
