<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting apparatus capable of selectively causing a plurality of arranged light-emitting elements to emit a light with the small number of signal transmission paths as much as possible without complicating the structure of the apparatus, and being mounted on a substrate such as a circuit board without damaging the light-emitting element, and to provide an image forming apparatus provided with this light-emitting apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In response to a scanning signalϕ, each of switch elements T provides a trigger signal to a gate 19 of each corresponding light-emitting element L, and the light-emitting element L emits a light by providing the trigger signal to the gate 19 and providing a light-emitting signalϕhaving a voltage larger than a threshold voltage or a current larger than a threshold current.
