<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera in which a mechanical shock and vibration which are transmitted to a hard disk can be effectively restrained and reduction in weight and size can be achieved. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic camera includes a thin and boxy housing whose front form is approximately quadrilateral, a shooting lens located at the front of the housing, an image-taking element for photographing an image of a photographic subject built up light flux passed through the shooting lens, a release button arranged in the housing, a hard disk which records image data based on the output of the image-taking element and is built in the housing.
