PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen which has high luminance and high contrast in a light atmosphere. SOLUTION: The screen has a selective reflecting layer 2 comprising an optical multi-layered film of a plurality of metal oxide films 4Di and a light absorbing thin film 4M1 with transmissivity and a reflecting layer 3 reflecting transmitted light from the optical multi-layered film and having reflection characteristics to light of a designated wavelength range corresponding to projection light and absorption characteristics to light of a wavelength range except the designated wavelength range, and a metal oxide films 4D1 right on the reflecting film 3 has its refraction index and/or film thickness so adjusted that the wavelength range of the absorption characteristics is between the wavelength of an emission line peak of a red component of the projection light and the wavelength of the emission line peak of a green component and also between the wavelength of an emission line peak of the green component and the wavelength of an emission line peak of a blue component.
