PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device capable of easily implanting carriers (holes) from a positive pole into an organic light-emitting layer via a hole transport layer. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescence device includes a transparent substrate, the positive pole stacked on the transparent substrate, the hole transport layer, the organic light-emitting layer, and a negative pole. In the device, the hole transport layer includes a hole transport material in which polystyrene sulfonic acid or its salt is doped into polythiophene (3, 4-ethylene dioxy), and the polythiophene (3, 4-ethylene dioxy) and the polystyrene sulfonic acid or its salt are oriented in parallel.
