PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a covering body for heating a pipe easily installable and removable and free from the possibility of the contamination of an external environment. SOLUTION: This covering body comprises a surrounding body having a through hole for the pipe, divided at least into two parts, and having, in at least one outer peripheral surface, a longitudinally extending recessed groove, a first fitting plate formed in a circular arc band shape longer than the half round of the surrounding body and having an extension part with a cutout formed at one end part, a fitting member formed by openably connecting, through a hinge, the first fitting plate to the second fitting plate having the cutout and the extension part formed thereon. The fitting member is installed on the surrounding body so that the hinge can be stored in the recessed groove of the surrounding body and that the extension part of the first fitting plate can be stored in the cutout of the second fitting plate.
