PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage disposer in which ultraviolet light spreads to deep part of garbage in a disposer chamber, then, organic matter is efficiently decomposed by a photocatalyst. SOLUTION: Transparent particles 2 are contained in a casing 1. Garbage is charge by opening a lid 7, and the particles 2 are added in the case of lacking of the particles 2. After closing the lid 7, UVLEDs 9 are lit, an agitator 3 and an exhaust fan 4 are started. Upper surfaces of garbage and particles 2 in the casing 1 are irradiated with ultraviolet light, part of which intrudes into adjacent particles 2 through the particles 2. Thereby, ultraviolet light spreads over the whole of the casing 1 inside, to efficiently decompose organic matter by photocatalytic action in the whole of the casing 1 inside.
