METHOD FOR PRODUCING PERFECT STERILITY PLANT AND PLANT OBTAINED BY THE METHOD, AND UTILIZATION THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a perfect sterility plant, comprising producing a fused chimera protein of a LEAFY transcription factor with a functional peptide for converting an arbitrary transcription factor into a transcription-inhibiting factor in a plant, by which the perfect sterility plant can simply be produced in high probability. SOLUTION: A chimera gene of a gene encoding the LEAFY transcription factor with a polynucleotide encoding the functional peptide for converting an arbitrary transcription factor to a transcription-inhibiting factor is transduced into a plant to produce the chimera protein obtained by fusing the transcription factor with the functional peptide, in the plant cells. In 13 samples among 46 samples, the perfect sterility plant having the same phenotype as the double mutant of LEAFY gene with API gene can be produced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
