DISPOSAL CANISTER FOR PRESSURIZED HEAVY WATER REACTOR SPENT NUCLEAR FUELS

A disposal canister for pressurized heavy water reactor spent nuclear fuels is provided to secure a safety in an environment of underground 500m physically, chemically, and radioactively. In a disposal canister for nuclear fuels spent at a pressurized heavy water reactor, a spent nuclear fuels basket(36) accommodates a bundle of nuclear fuels spent at a pressurized heavy water, 0.9 to 1.1 times longer than a grouped nuclear fuels spent at the pressurized light water. An interior vessel(32) has a plurality of loading spaces which loads a nuclear fuels basket(36) spent at the pressurized heavy water of which a shortest section has a circular shape. The interior vessel(32) is inserted into an exterior vessel(34). An interior cover(40) covers the interior vessel(32) and the exterior cover(50) covers the exterior vessel(34).
