A donor substrate for thermal transfer, an organic light emitting device having the donor substrate, and a method for manufacturing the light emitting device are provided to improve patterning accuracy of the donor substrate by manufacturing a polymer material using an emulsion scheme. A donor substrate includes a base substrate(631), an optical-thermal conversion layer(632), and a film-type transfer layer(633). The optical-thermal conversion layer is formed on the base substrate and converts an incident beam to thermal energy. The film-type transfer layer is formed on the optical-thermal conversion layer. The transfer layer is made of an organic material which is manufactured by diffusing polymer solution in water as an emulsion type.
